Red Wings general manager Ken Holland today announced the signing of forward Francis Pare to a two-year entry level contract.

In keeping with club policy, additional terms of the contract are not available.

Playing on an American Hockey League contract, Pare, 21, appeared in 61 games this season for the Red Wings’ AHL affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins. He is the Griffins’ third-leading scorer with 23 goals and 24 assists.

Last season, Pare was the most valuable player and first-team all-star in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playing for Chicoutimi where he tallied 54 goals and 48 assists for 102 points along with a plus-41 rating in 69 games.
